Ko-Chung
Lin, Ph.D.
Founder and CEO
Dr. Lin, the leading founder of PharmaEssentia Corp., is an
accomplished scientist with more than 17 years of successful
industrial experience in drug discovery and development. As
a co-founder of discovery chemistry team at Biogen, he led the
team to discover their first drug candidate that was later licensed
to Merck Co. Prior to that, his work at Monsanto-Searle on HIV
protease inhibitor project resulted in an AIDS drug on the market.
Dr. Lin holds a Ph.D. from University of Missouri, followed
by postdoctoral research at University of Michigan, and is the
inventor of more than 30 patents. |

Ching-Leou
Teng, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President, Operation
Dr. Teng obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan,
where she focused on drug absorption. Following two years' post-doctoral
research, Dr. Teng joined the US FDA as a reviewer in pharmacokinetics,
and then worked for a US-based biotech company focusing on new
drug development, dosage form evaluation, manufacturing and
process validation, and CMC section preparation for IND and
NDA. |

Jack
Hwang, Ph.D.
Vice President, Development Chemistry
Dr. Hwang, who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania,
was a senior director at San Diego-based Optimer Pharmaceuticals
prior to joining PharmaEssentia. Previously, he also worked
for Ligand Pharmaceutical, Amgen and Array Biopharma. Dr. Hwang
has authored 37 scientific papers and 17 patents. |

Shu-Fen
Li , MBA
Director, Business Development and Strategic Planning
Ms. Li has a wealth of experience in international venture capital fund
raising, marketing, product pricing, licensing and corporate strategic
planning. She began her career in Yuan-Ta Securities Group in Taiwan,
then utilized her overseas educations and experience by working in
Siemens AG in Germany, after which she joined Financial Service
International Corp. as well as Trade Compass, a Federal Express
start-up, two companies located in the USA. Ms. Li holds an MBA from
Seattle Pacific University, USA. She also studied at Harvard University
for healthcare marketplace and general management-related courses
between 2007 and 2008. |

James Lee, Ph.D.
Executive Director, Analytical & QC
Dr.
Lee holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Prior joining
PharmaEssentia, Dr. Lee has over 20 years of extensive industrial
experience in analytical method development for small molecules,
protein analysis and characterization as well as project management. He
worked at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Merck and Bayer for
many years, led analytical method development, product characterization
in support of R&D, process development, and quality control under
cGMP/GLP.
