Ko-Chung Lin, PhD
Founder and CEO
Being the leading founder of PharmaEssentia, Dr. Lin is an accomplished
scientist, receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri,
followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan. With
more than 20 years of successful experience in drug discovery and
development, Dr. Lin was also the co-founder of the discovery chemistry
team at Biogen, where he led the team to discover their first drug
candidate that was later licensed to Merck Co. Prior to that, his work
at Monsanto-Searle on HIV protease inhibitor project resulted in an
AIDS drug on the market. In addition, he is also the holder of more
than 40 patents.

Ching-Leou Teng, PhD
Executive Vice President, Operation & R & D
Prior to joining the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a
reviewer in pharmacokinetics, Dr. Teng obtained her Ph.D. specializing
in drug absorption from the University of Michigan, followed by two
years of post doctoral research. Following her experience in the US
FDA, Dr. Teng joined US-based ISIS Pharmaceuticals, focusing on new
drug development, dosage form formulation, manufacturing and processing
validation, CMC section, as well as preclinical studies for both IND
application and NDA approvals.

Jack Hwang, PhD
Vice President, Development Chemistry
Dr. Hwang obtained his PhD specializing in synthetic organic
chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his joining
PharmaEssentia, Dr. Hwang was the senior director at San Diego-based
Optimer Pharmaceuticals. He also worked for Ligand Pharmaceuticals,
Amgen and Array Biopharma after he earned his Ph.D. degree. In addition
to these achievements, Dr. Hwang has authored 37 scientific papers and
17 patents.

Shu-Fen Li, MBA
Director, Business Development and Strategic Planning
Holding a wealth of experience in international venture capital
fund raising, marketing, product pricing, licensing and corporate
strategic planning, Ms. Li began her career in Yuan-Ta Securities Group
in Taiwan, followed by Siemens AG in Germany where she utilized her
overseas education and experience. After leaving Siemens AG, she joined
Financial Service International Corp. as well as Trade Compass, a
Federal Express start-up, both located in the USA. In addition to her
MBA from Seattle Pacific University, USA, Ms Li also studied at Harvard
University where she focused on healthcare marketplace and general
management-related courses between 2007 and 2008. |
